１１月３日、その日天気予報では、雨模様のはずだったが、起床し、窓の外を覗うと晴れの様子だった。
そうであれば、東京五輪の選手村候補地である「晴海」へ行ってみようと思い、９時ごろ自宅を出た。
November 3rd. It was sunny aginst the weather forecast.
I came up with the idea to cycle around Harumi area which is a candidate site for a athletes’ village.
So, I left my home 9 in the morning.

いつものように、江戸川を南下し、行徳橋を渡り、旧江戸川から新川沿いから中川・荒川に辿り着いた。
As usual, I went down to the south, along with Edogawa river.
I crossed Gyotoku Bridge and got to the Nakagawa and Arakawa area through Shinkawa River and Kyu-edogawa River (former Edogawa River).

そこから、その日は吊り橋の「清砂大橋」を渡った。
渡ってすぐの道を左折した。ここは少し探検気分で、新しいアプローチを試してみた。
After that , Ⅰcrossed a suspension bridge named Kiyosuna-Ohashi.
I turned to the left after crossing the bridge. Then, I explored some new areas where I am not acquainted.

すると東京都の巨大な下水処理場に出っくわした。そのとてつもなく巨大な煙突を見ながら、更に進んでゆくと、大型のミキサー車と頻繁に行きかうことになり、適当なところで引き返した。
Then, I came across the vast sewage plant.
As I went further looking the vast chimney of the plant, I had to go by oncoming large mixer trucks.
So, I gave up going further.


明治通りに出て、その日は、晴海を目指し、適当な道を選んで走った。
するとＪＲ京葉線のバカでかい操車場に出会った。何とか道を探していると、橋が見つかり、らせん状の自転車専用の長い上り道が見つかった。
I got to Meiji-dori Ave. I kept on going to Harumi area choosing taking safe routes.
Then, I came across a huge switching yard of JR KEiyo line.
Because I could not go further, I had to find the way to get out of that area.
I happened to find a bridge with a spiral road for bikes.


何とか、有明通りを通って、晴海に入った。
I finally got to Harumi area through Ariake-dori Ave.

晴海ふ頭に向かい、その日は晴海ふ頭公園まで足を延ばした。
その公園は、思ったよりも広く、レインボーブリッジや東京タワー等が一望できる景観の良い場所であった。
I made my way to HARUMI WHARF and dropped by HARUMI WHARF PARK.
The park was larger than I expected, and I could get a beautiful full view of Rainbow bridge and Tokyo Tower.

その辺りには、「五輪の選手村ができるのかな」という、想像を掻き立てる、広大な空き地があった。
There was a vast vacant site that captured my imagination if it would be used as construction of athletes’ village.


晴海を後にし、その日は、帰途に就いた。
I left Harumi area and left for home.
